EARLY YEARS LEARNING FRAMEWORK (EYLF)

A New Vision For Australia

The Early Years Learning Framework is an important and timely resource for early childhood. It embraces a new vision for Australia:

  • a future that embraces all Australians

  • a future based on mutual respect, mutual resolve and mutual responsibility

  • a fture where all Australians, whatever their origins, are truly equal partners, with equal opportunities and with an equal stake in shaping the next chapter in the history of Australia

What is The EYLF Framework?

The framework provides an opportunity for educators across Australia to work towards:

  • a clear focus on children's learning and wellbeing

  • a shared language for curriculum in the early childhood field

  • a base for planning, promoting and assessing learning

  • improved quality in ealry childhood settings

  • cultural security for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families

  • including families and communities in children's learning.

How Does The EYLF Help My Child?

The Early Years Learning Framework underpins universal access to early childhood education and has been included in the National Quality Standard to ensure delivery of nationally-consistent and quality early childhood programmes across the country. A Families Guide to the Early Years Learning Framework has been developed and is available on Department of Education and Training website.
