ABOUT

With over 30 years of experience, we have the right tools to give your child a strong early learning foundation.

The Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Montessori Preschool journey has a deep respect for the Montessori Principles, Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards. Our centre philosophy is to maintain a high standard of personal care for each child whilst allowing your child to experience a Montessori education which will encourage the child’s love of learning, support their natural potential and build a foundation for life-long learning.

We at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Montessori believe in providing your child with a carefully prepared environment and curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and encourage activities which are based on your child’s individual needs and a routine that is flexible both indoors and outdoors which allows the natural unfolding of your child's, physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially.

With this safe and unique learning environment that is child centred and adult guided, we believe in maintaining an orderly, calm and happy environment where your child can feel confident to explore and attempt new skills without fear of failure or judgement.

The Montessori Journey views parents as pivotal in the education and moulding process.  We are committed to working in partnership with parents to ensure a meaningful experience.

Our journey views each child and their family as a unique and individual and one to be respected for that uniqueness regardless of race, culture, gender, religious beliefs or special needs.

We pride ourselves in having provided a much valued holistic approach to preschool education for over 31 years through the Montessori Method and are in the fortunate position of being able to meet the expectations of the Early Years Learning Framework through our proven approach which has stood the test of time for over 100 years.

Our Staff

Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Montessori staff are specifically trained in the Montessori philosophy and the method of education applicable to the level they are teaching. The teachers are trained specifically to follow the child’s progress and present the appropriate Montessori material and environment according to the academic and developmental needs of the child. Trainee and Assistants are required to familiarize themselves with the Montessori philosophy and attend workshops that support their work in a Montessori school. All teachers are required to do professional development of varying types on an annual basis.
